Do most emloyers do background checks on state or national level?

I'm embarrassed to ask this question, but with a serious crime and other misdemeanors in my past is very difficult sometimes to find a white-collar work even though just left the mortgage business as a branch manager. Now I live in Virginia and planned to move to Denver, Colorado soon so I wanted to prepare for the interview. It is important to note that almost all my convictions in Virginia so that's why I was curious what employers in Colorado would be watching.

I have spent the past year and a half of investigation and verification tests background for a review site for consumers (http://www.CompleteReviews.net) and in that time have run tons of background checks with many companies different. Based on my tests of the employer-based services background check, are all at the national (and sometimes international) criminal background checks as part of the background check process. I know not what they want to hear, but what I've seen in the background checks that have run. If desired, you can run a criminal background check on yourself to see what is displayed for $ 10. This is using a license provider that conducts background checks on employers in the background. The link is http://www.CompleteReviews.net/recommends/efindoutthetruth.html if you are interested. Hope this helps!
